Jihad initially included brothers James (Music) and Rich Mendez (Vocals), but now consists of only James. He was originally influenced by association with the Dassings & his brother's Benestrophe project since it began sometime between 1987 - 1988. Jihad became known for their song titled, Hands That Hide, featured on the quadruple CD collection from RAS DVA called, There Is No Time.
